Molly Mayeux is a producer of motion pictures whose numerous credits include Tyler Perry’s DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN, HBO’s DANCING IN SEPTEMBER, and SAVIOR starring Dennis Quaid. In 1998, Ms Mayeux produced THE HI LINE, starring Rachael Leigh Cook, which premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival as well DANDELION, starring Taryn Manning, which premiered in 2003.
Ms Mayeux is currently in post-production on RAIN, a film from the Bahamas, starring Nicki Micheaux (“Lincoln Heights”), CCH Pounder (”The Shield”, BAGHDAD CAFÉ), and Irma P. Hall, winner of the 2006 Cannes Special Jury award for the Cohen brothers’ LADY KILLERS, which starred Tom Hanks.
Spanning a career of over sixteen years, Ms Mayeux began as an assistant for director Taylor Hackford (RAY and AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN) and moved up the production ladder working for such notable filmmakers as Steven Spielberg, the Farrelly brothers, Joel Schumacher, and Alan Parker.
Under her own production banner, Dahlia Street Films, Ms Mayeux has vast experience in most facets of the entertainment industry, including production, marketing, and distribution. Current projects in development include BUDDY HOLLY’S ALIVE AND WELL ON GANYMEDE, based on the novel of the same name by award winning author Bradley Denton, and HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN, a crime drama, scheduled to be shot in New Orleans winter of next year.
Ms Mayeux is of Cajun descent, hailing from the great state of Louisiana whose last name is easy to pronounce since it rhymes with bayou.
